Powys Stud was established in 1994 with the purchase of a weanling colt, Splendours Gem of Astral by Syon Splendour (Imp UK) out of Kiabe Regalia (by Keston Royal Occasion). Ollie was lightly shown with success and covered his first mares as a two year old. His first season foals included the highly successful grey gelding Powys Proud Heritage (first foal from Colpardas Penny). Ollie was gelded as an 8 year old and has gone on to become a multi supreme champion under saddle ridden by children.
Powys Stud is run by myself and my mother, and pretty ponies are our passion. In 2002 Bradmore Toy Soldier was purchased in the UK with the aim of importing him to Australia. Toy already had his first crop of sensational foals and had covered several mares before coming to Australia. Toy arrived in Australia in May 2004.
2005 saw the the crop of foals in Australia with 7 in QLD, 1 in VIC and 1 in NSW
Brookfields Stud (NZ) are proud to own the only "TOY" foal in New Zealand, a beautiful dark bay filly out of Willowcroft Ice Magic (exp NZ)
Powys Stud aims to breed pretty ponies that are nice natured, great movers and structually correct.
